The new version of iOS 5 has recently been announced with the keynote from Apple CEO Steve Jobs at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 (Apple WWDC 2011) in San Francisco.
The new iOS 5 has been upgraded with many new features. Apple says more than 200 various updates and upgrades to iOS 5 has made its specifications even more better and reliable.
New apps such as Instapaper, GroupMe, photo editors, etc. has been included in iOS 5 which are directly from its own Apple App Store. And not to be missed iCloud, the brand new cloud service has made losts of integration with new iOS 5.
iOS 5 will not be made available to download for non-developers until this fall. And the beta iOS 5 has already been provided to the developers for the testing and improvements before its official launch to all the users. After it has been made available to download to the users, it would be free to download for the owners of iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2 and the iPod Touch.

Notification Center
Apple has added “Notification Center” with personalized news feed to all of its devices. Like Android, now things like weather, stock, new texts, emails and friend requests will be notified at the top of screen which can be accessed by swiping on the top of screen.
iMessage
iMessage which is similar as Blackberry Messaging, allows the users to send instant messages to other users which are outnumbered. Users can also see where the recipient is reading or typing in response. iMessage also supports media sharing such as photo, videos or contacts. But for now, the messages can be sent only within devices using iOS.
Newsstand
Newsstand holds all your magazine and newspaper subscriptions. A virtual newsstand displays all new purchases to which the new issues are downloaded automatically and are directly put into the newsstand.
Reminders
With iOS 5 reminders app, users now will be able to have reminders on their device which is based on location. So, if you’re going to supermarket, then you can have your iOS 5 to remind what you’ll probably forget to buy there. Reminders can be synchronized with iCal, iCloud, etc. for other features.
Deep Twitter Integration
Now, Tweeting will be more easy on iOS 5. Tweets can be made directly from Safari, Camera, Youtube and many other apps. Twitter will be synchronized with the contacts in iOS, which will make you easy to find your friend’s Twitter accounts. But there is no Facebook till this level.
Camera and Photos
Camera gets better with Apple iOS 5. You can hit the camera button directly from the Lock Screen for quicker shots. Features similar as digital cameras; grid lines, focus and exposure, etc are there. The volume-up button is now shutter button too.
Safari
Now with tabbed browsing, you can switch between tabs and they are always visible. Apple’s mobile web browser, Safari includes Instapaper, the popular reading app. iCloud makes it easy to save the articles for future reading via “Reading List”. All these are pushed to iOS devices by iCloud and just like separate apps, it does on the go.
PC Free: Now you can have updates on your device without connecting it to Mac or PC.

Calendar: New view of iOS calendar by year.

Game Center Update: There are 100,000 games with 50,000,000 users on Apple platform. There will be enhanced multiplayer gaming experience with social features such as photo sharing, game achievements, etc.
Video Mirroring: Mirror your entire screen view of iPad 2 on your Apple TV wirelessly.
Improved Multitouch Multitasking: Improved gestures for browing within iOS 5.
