Facebook video call was launched few days ago which is powered by Skype. The popular social network, Facebook, partnered with Skype to release its new facebook video chat. So now Facebook video calling has been made possible which was indeed what everyone wanted to see on Facebook. The Facebook-Skype Video Chat rumor started two weeks ago.
Facebook’s blog says that the new chat system will allow users to call their friends directly from Facebook. The new chat layout shows the people you message most, both online and offline. The ‘green circle’ will indicate that they are online and for offline contacts, there’ll be no such indicator. The chat layout also changes along the window size of your browser.
To call a friend on Facebook, go to your chat list and select an available friend with whom you want to video chat. Click the Video Chat button to start calling. OR you can go to your friends’s profile and click the “Call” button. If you’re trying facebook video calling for the first time, you’ll be asked to download “FacebookVideoCallSetup” executable file. Install it and select some Flash settings after installation over the chat window.
You will be then able to video call your Facebook Friends. The video calling on facebook is just like small Skype extension with video chat support for facebook. Skype CEO Tony Bates mentioned in the announcement that not only you can simply video chat, but also you can record a message and send the video message to your Facebook Friends if they’re not answering your chat or are offline to the chat.
