The software giant company Microsoft has revealed their first ever self-made hardware, The Surface Tablet. The new Surface comes in two different versions running Windows RT and another with Windows 8 Pro.
The Surface tablet features 10.6 inch HD screen display with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. It’s very thin, just 9.3mm for Windows RT version and 13.55 mm for the Windows 8 Pro version.
Also Two USB ports, a micro SD prot and a micro SDXC port are on both versions of Surface tablets. The Surface RT has Micro HD port and the Surface Pro has a Mini DisplayPort Video.
The screen glass is made of Gorilla Glass, which is strong and scratch proof. For connectivity, both have 2×2 MIMO antennae.
But the best part of the Surface is its Touch Cover. This is not a usual type of Tablet Cover because it also functions as a mini keyboard. The 3mm thick cover is build-in with full keyboard along with track pad and can be used when cover is opened.
Surface with Windows RT comes in 32 GB and 64 GB models while the Windows Pro version with 64 GB and 128 GB.
No price revealed in the announcement, but we can say it would cost around $500 for RT and $800 for Pro version.
The hardware specs and features wasn’t a dispute though. Rather, Microsoft induced the Surface as a PC with looks of a tablet.
So, with iPad as it’s competitor, would this be an absolute game changer? And below are gallery images and a video from Microsoft.
We’ll be covering this further, so stay tuned.
