Google+ has turned a year old today! The social network from the search engine giant have had a pretty good year. It’s been a year of hits for them as well as the users.
Now there are 250 million users on Google+ and the rate is increasing daily. According to Google, users now spends at least 12 minutes on their Google+ stream. The social layer is accessed more from mobile device than the desktops.
The start of the year for Google+ was with this amazing feature called “Hangout” and now the end of it’s first year is done with the launch of “Events” and it’s Tablet App.
Yes! Google+ has finally come up with the Events. (You can see Events icon on your left nav-bar.)
While creating events, users can select various beautiful themes to get the event page on mood. Creating one is very simple and it syncs with your Google Calender too, which is pretty awesome.
‘Events’ can be managed before, during and after attending party. Google+ Events includes a tool called “Party Mode”, which is for mobile devices. While on Party Mode, you can take photos which automatically gets posted to the events page. The photos are well sorted and categorised based on who captured it. You can share anything instantly with it. So next time you organize a party, be sure to make a Google+ Event Page.
New Android & Tablet App
Google has rolled out the new update of Google+ for Android and Tablets. The app for iPad will be coming soon where as for Android it’s already been released. The new features obviously include Events. The stream is now very charming with the full width pics. One thing very new is that you can scroll the stream horizontally through the screen. Go to Play Store to download it.
