How to Downgrade your iOS  in iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new ipad to iOS 5.0.1 using Redsn0w

Step 1: If you haven’t yet, download the new Redsnow

Step 2: If you haven’t yet, upgrade to iOS 5.1.1.

Step 3: Turn your device in DFU mode and run Redsn0w.

Step 4: After RedSn0w detects your device in DFU mode, goto Extras > Even more > Restore and click IPSW under the IPSW section. RedSn0w will then ask you for your iOS 5.0.1 IPSW. Once you locate iOS 5.0.1, RedSn0w will ask your for the latest firmware (iOS 5.1.1).

Step 5: Locate your saved SHSH blobs.If oyu haven’t jailbroke your devie yet so can’t find it in Cydia, try choosing Locals and browsing.

Step 6: After your blob is verified, your work is pretty much done, Just wait till redsn0w finishes the downgrading.

Step 7:  After a success message appears, go to Settings > General > About and see you firmware now degraded.

The new version, called the 0.9.11b1  updates to the latest firmware before downgrading to the earlier one. So if you are relying on unofficial locks on your iPhone 4s, do not use this. You can go to the Dev Team’s blog for more details

How to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 tethered with RedSn0w

Step 1: Firstly, if you haven't yet, Download RedSn0w 0.9.10b8b
from here.

Step 2: Turn your device to DFU mode after connecting and run
Redsnow.

Step 3: Click on Extras and click on IPSW point to your iOS 5.1
firmware for this device.

Step 4:Wait till the software recognizes iOS 5.1 firmware. Then,
goto the main page of Redsn0w and click on Jailbreak.

Step 5: It should now identify the build, Click Next.

Step 6: After Cydia is installed, reboot

Step 7: Goto Extras and click Just boot.

Step 8: After the reboot, you should be able to see a Cydia icon in
your desktop.

Step 9:This should jailbreak you device now.

Just remember this is only a tethered jailbreak and will not still
be usable if you reboot your device.
